Information About Podcasts

A podcast is very similar to a radio broadcast, except that it's a broadcast on the Internet using digital media files. You can listen to a podcast on a computer, an MP3 player or in your Web browser. Podcasts are provided free of charge to the public by content providers to promote their website or other services.

Podcast episodes can be downloaded individually or subscribed to so that they are downloaded to your computer automatically whenever a new episode is published. This requires the installation of the appropriate software, often referred to as a Podcast Client. The most popular client: iTunes, is a free download for Mac and Microsoft Windows from Apple.

There are numerous Podcast Clients available for free download on the Internet.
