Characteristics   [Top]
Strengths: Tukwa is earlier maturing, higher yielding and has a higher test weight than Duke. Lodging resistance is very good. Smooth awned. Resistant to surface-borne smuts, moderately resistant to moderately susceptible to stem rust, common root rot, scald and spot-form of net blotch.
Weaknesses: Weaker straw than Duke. Susceptible to septoria, loose smut and net-form of net blotch.
