Characteristics   [Top]
Strengths: Feed barley with 4-9% higher grain yield and 7% higher silage yields than AC Lacombe in central Alberta. It has strong straw and good lodging resistance for a normal height variety. One day earlier maturing than AC Lacombe. Resistance to the surface-borne smuts and field resistance to scald. Moderate resistance to loose smut and spot-form of net blotch. Rough awned.
Weaknesses: Susceptible to common root rot. Smaller seed size than the check varieties and may not yield as well under low yielding conditions.
