The 2002 crop report series will consist of 6 monthly reports from May through October, and a summary report in December. The first crop report will be released on Thursday, May 30. The crop report will be prepared based on data and information collected through surveys, precipitation data and information from other sources. The report will cover provincial and regional summaries, and conditions at the municipality level as needed.
Agricultural Fieldmen will provide information on moisture/crop conditions for 43 municipalities in Alberta. Field supervisors with Alberta Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) will report for the areas they cover and, in particular, help cover areas where Agricultural Fieldmen are not available to assist. The assistance of Agricultural Fieldmen/the Association of Alberta Agricultural Fieldmen and AFSC is very much appreciated.
The weekly district reports and regional summary will no longer be available due to the recent restructuring of the Industry Development sector of Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.
The crop report with a precipitation map will be available on the Internet at: http://www.agric.gov.ab.ca/navigation/economics/crops/index.html
