Introduction 

Non-commercial timber permits allow Albertans to cut trees for personal use. These permits come in 2 types: 

  • Local Timber Permits (LTP)
  • Personal Use Forest Products Permits (PUFPP)

Each permit grants the holder legal authority to harvest timber in designated areas on Crown land.

    Albertans can get a Personal Use Forest Products Permit or a Local Timber Permit to harvest trees in designated Crown land areas.
