Swath grazing is a management system in which late seeded annual crops are swathed in mid September and left for livestock to graze during the winter.
By grazing the swaths, costs associated with baling, bale hauling,
and feed storage are eliminated. Further background on swath
grazing can be found at:
www.foragebeef.ca. Select the heading "Extended Grazing Season" for more information on swath grazing and other grazing systems that can be used for winter grazing.
